Fire Alarm Technician Position – Calgary
As a Fire Alarm Technician at Fire Inspection Services Inc, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems in strict compliance with the National Fire Code, Alberta Edition, CAN/ULC-S536, and CAN/ULC-S537 standards. Your work plays a critical role in keeping buildings safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspection and testing of fire alarm systems in accordance with CAN/ULC-S536 and Alberta Fire Code requirements.

Perform verification inspections (VI) as per CAN/ULC-S537, confirming proper installation, operation, and compliance.

Inspect fire alarm panels, detectors, notification devices, and wiring.

Document inspection, testing, and maintenance activities with clear, code-compliant reports.

Identify system deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.

Coordinate with clients to schedule and perform service visits.

Ensure all work meets safety standards and provincial regulations.

Qualifications

CFAA certification or a valid “P” ticket required.

Minimum 2 years of experience as an alarm technician preferred.

Strong understanding of fire alarm codes and standards.

Ability to work independently and professionally with clients.
Cross-training for additional certifications can be arranged through the company, supporting long-term growth within CFAA careers in Calgary.
Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $29 to $45 per hour.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week.
